| This first splusp-album was released partially on a previous version of splogman's world: splog. Now the full album is online for a while. It was in bad shape and it took some physical and digital cleaning to make it presentable. In track 4 was a very deep scratch, that I couldn't repair. If somebody can provide me with an undamaged recording of that song I would be happy to update this page with it. It may be worthwhile to re-visit anyway for there will be updates with more background info. |

Translation of liner notes When you took this record in your hands the strange title: No! will probably have astonished you! This "no" however is not an ordinary "no". It is a clear statement against the violation of human rights such as occur daily in the republic of South Africa. He who in the Netherlands must appear before the judge doesn't have to be concerned about the manner, in which he will be judged. There are lawyers who can defend him and if he does not have enough money even free. His wife and children do not have to starve for they are looked after. In the republic of South Africa antagonists of the apartheidspolitiek can be put in prison for years without any support of a lawyer, their women and children are left to themselves without any aid. The need in which these people can find themselves can hardly be relieved with money. Yet money is the only means available us in the Netherlands to make the position of blanke and black warriors for human rights in South Africa bearable. With thousand Dutch guilders a family of a prisoner in South Africa can be saved from starvation for a year, with two thousand guilders an accused can be spaired from years in prison through proper defence. The artists who cooperated on this record did this entirely without profit. An important part of the proceeds of this record. - price f 7.50 - will come directly to the benefit of the "Defence and Aid Fund that collects money to give legal and social support in South Africa. By buying this record you can say "NO!" to the inhuman situations in south Africa too. More important still is that at the same time you will say "YES" to your fellow men in need in South Africa. Original Dutch text: Toen U deze plaat in handen nam heeft U zich waarschijnlijk verbaasd over de vreemde titel-NEE! Dit "nee" is echter niet zo maar een "nee". Het is een duidelijke uitspraak tegen de schending van de mensenrechten zoals deze dagelijks in de Republiek van Zuid-Afrika plaats vindt. Wie in Nederland voor de rechter moet verschijnen hoeft zich geen zorgen te maken over de wijze, waarop hem recht gedaan zal worden. Advocaten die zijn zaak kunnen verdedigen staan hem ter beschikking, als hij niet over genoeg geld beschikt zelfs gratis. Zijn vrouwen kinderen hoeven niet van de honger om te komen, zij worden verzorgd. In de Republiek van Zuid-Afrika kunnen tegenstanders van de apartheidspolitiek voor jaren gevangen gezet worden zonder dat zij steun van een advocaat gehad hebben, hun vrouwen en kinderen worden aan hun lot overgelaten. De nood waarin deze mensen zich bevinden is met geld nauwelijks te lenigen. Toch is geld het enige middel dat ons in Nederland ter beschikking staat om de positie van blanke en zwarte strijders voor de mensenrechten in Zuid-Afrika nog enigszins dragelijk te maken. Met duizend Nederlandse guldens kan een gezin van een gevangene in Zuid-Afrika een jaar lang voor de hongerdood behoed worden, met twee duizend guldens kan een aangeklaagde door de verdediging voor jaren celstraf gespaard blijven. De artiesten die aan deze plaat meewerkten deden dit geheel belangeloos. Een belangrijk deel van de opbrengst van deze plaat. Verkoopprijs f 7.50 -komt rechtstreeks ten goede aan het Defence and Aid Fund dat gelden inzamelt om in Zuid-Afrika juridische en maatschappelijke steun te verlenen. Door deze plaat te kopen kunt ook U "NEE!" zeggen tegen de onmenselijke toestanden in Zuid Afrika. Belangrijker nog is dat U dan tegelijk "JA" zegt tegen Uw medemens die in Zuid- Afrika in nood is. |
